If you find yourself wandering through the charming streets of BF Homes in Parañaque, prepare to uncover a delightful culinary treasure: The Black Bean. Nestled within the ServeQuest OneEighty building at 180 J. Elizalde Avenue, this café is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a haven for those seeking delicious food in a cozy and laidback atmosphere.

The café's menu is a vibrant mix of comfort food that speaks to the soul. Picture yourself indulging in their Cereal Chicken Popcorn, which plays a delightful symphony of flavors with its crispy exterior drizzled in sweet chili honey. It's the perfect introduction to a meal that captures both creativity and familiarity. For those brunching with friends, the Chicken and Waffles is a must-try, delivering a satisfying blend of savory and sweet. While some might wish for a crunchier waffle, the dish’s seasoning has been praised for its perfect balance, ensuring that there's no lingering sense of “umay” (fullness) that often accompanies heavier fare.

But the delights don’t stop there. A trip to The Black Bean wouldn’t be complete without savoring their renowned tiramisu, hailed by regulars like Maria Jasmine Tan as “probably the best” she’s ever had. With generous servings that defy the reasonable price point, you’ll find yourself coming back for another slice of this creamy, coffee-infused dessert.

The ambiance of The Black Bean enhances the eating experience, boasting a design that blends modern aesthetics with a cozy vibe. It’s not unusual to see patrons with laptops set up at tables, contributing to an environment that feels both productive and relaxed—ideal for a quiet work session or a lively catch-up with friends. However, as some guests noted, the music can be a bit loud at times, which might detract from a peaceful retreat. Yet, this lively atmosphere is perfect for social gatherings and casual hangouts.

Real customers echo these sentiments, with one diner, Naranzul Namur, describing it as a “gem” where affordability never compromises quality. Whether you are finishing off a thrilling day of free diving or simply exploring Parañaque, The Black Bean promises to refresh you with its delicious offerings and warm service. With ample parking and both cash and card acceptance, the café also ensures that your visit is hassle-free.

So, next time you’re in the neighborhood, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the culinary charm that The Black Bean has to offer. Whether for brunch, a casual coffee, or a sweet treat, the moments shared here are bound to be cherished.

Great brunch place! Cereal chicken popcorn was served with chili honey which complemented it perfectly well. Chicken and waffles had the right seasoning to it, no umay factor. Would’ve loved it if the waffles were a little bit crunchier. Grilled cheese with tomato soup was a good addition to our order. Some people came here with their laptops to do work because the place had the laidback cafe vibe minus the overly chatty crowd. Overall, I would see myself coming back to The Black Bean for more brunch dates

The food is always good when we go here. Service is also quick. I *highly* recommend their tiramisu. Probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Generous serving for the price, too.

Good cafe in BF. Food was good but chicken a bit salty for me. Coffee tasted amazing!!! Ample parking upfront. They take cards and cash as well. Staff were accommodating. Price point was just right

It was such a gem. Highly recommended!!! Everything is very affordable compared to the quality of the food and coffee. We did free diving in Parañaque and were looking for a brunch place nearby and found The Black Bean.

The food I tried was good and justified the price, but the coffee was just okay, looked fancy but not really to my liking. The place has loud music, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for peace, but it’s good for hangouts. The café also has a nice design. Overall, just an okay spot.

Never knew Black Bean had a branch in the south. Thank god for Holy Week where the options to eat out are limited we were able to find this resto. Let’s rate the food. The chicken and waffle was both sweet, spicy and salty. I’m not into spicy food so that’s that but it’s still good. The fish and chips had a generous serving it’s good enough for two people. It tasted quite well too. The squad soup was really fantastic. The truffle fries, you can skip. Overall the experience was fine and I would absolutely go back.

My friends recommended this place and it was excellent! I ordered the Loco Moco and I thoroughly enjoyed it! At the tail end of the dish, though, the mushrooms’ taste overpowered everything else so might need a palate cleanser about halfway through. I also ordered the Cereal Dater and I loved it. It’s really sweet though, if that’s not your thing, but it’s a nice little treat that’s both a drink and a dessert. Overall, 11/10 def recommend, def would visit again

All the food we ordered tasted good but we really love the red egg chili pasta. The Mozart coffee is also unique, tropical fruits with espresso
